Investors await BSP rate cut
|
|
Benchmark interest rate flat
|
|
THE benchmark three-month interest rate was
unchanged as investors looked to a possible cut in the Bangko
Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) overnight rates later this month.
At Monday’s auction, the 91-day Treasury bill
rate, which banks use in pricing their loans, inched up to 3.673
percent from 3.672 percent two weeks ago. Banks were willing to buy
as much as P1.49 billion of the P1.5-billion worth of three-month
papers on offer, but the government decided to award only P960
million.
