THERE’S always room in show business for
sisters—the only prerequisite is that they should be beautiful or
talented, interesting or intelligent to be able to sustain the
audience’s interest in them.
In the seventies, superstars Vilma Santos and
Nora Aunor opened doors for their younger sisters Winnie Santos and
Lala Aunor, who both catapulted to instant fame by way of a weekly
variety program called Apat na Sikat. Although both were not blessed
with acting skills as great as their older sisters, they had their
15 minutes of real fame. Winnie is now in the United States while
Lala is now a successful businesswoman.
