Police, military on red alert
today against rallies
|
|
A significant segment of the government
machinery seems to be geared for today’s rallies commemorating the
21st anniversary of the Mendiola Massacre and demanding for the
implementation of “genuine agrarian reform.”
“We are going on full alert because of
confluence of some events: President Arroyo leaving for Switzerland,
we have the Edsa Dos anniversary and the Mendiola Massacre,”
Police Chief Avelino “Sonny” Razon Jr. said in a press
conference held Monday.

Agriculture grows 4.68% in 2007
|
|
Philippine agriculture, including the farming
and fisheries sub-sectors, managed to grow 4.68 percent in 2007,
even a little more than the government’s original target of a
minimum growth of 4.5 percent, despite the dry spell that crippled
farm growth in the second-half of the year.
