Barangay tanods arrested a Japanese national late Monday evening in
Biñan, Laguna after he was accused of raping a 15-year-old
girl, police reports said.
Reports reaching Camp Crame on Tuesday
identified the arrested Japanese as Katsumi Arai, of legal age and
residing at B-10, L-47, Celine Techno Park, Barangay Loma, Biñan
town.
The reports said that village watchmen arrested
Arai after his alleged victim complained to the authorities that the
Japanese had sexually molested her.
The Japanese is a neighbor of the rape victim, a
15-year-old out-of-school youth, whose name was withheld due to
the sensitivity of the case, police reports said.
Upon learning of the incident, village
officials investigated the said incident and quickly conducted
an operation leading to the arrest of the suspect, the report
said.
The reports said the suspect was turned over to
the Biñan Municipal Police Office to be booked while proper
charges are being readied for filing in the courts.
