ILOILO CITY: The best of Ilonggo cuisine will be offered to visitors
at affordable prices at the ongoing Dinagyang festival until January
27, reported the Philippine News Agency.
Dinagyang was chosen as the top tourism event of
the Philippines by the Association of Tourism Officers. It annually
features a food festival boasting the best of Ilonggo food and
delicacies.
The Iloilo Hotel, Restaurant and Resort
Association (IHRRA) will once again play host to the special event
in cooperation with the Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation and ABS-CBN.
IHRRA President Robert Ferrer said this year’s
celebration will see the participation of 34 restaurants and hotels
in Iloilo in the week-long and biggest food festival along Delgado
Street beside a hotel up to corner of Delgado and Mabini streets.
Nightly, musical bands will entertain the dining
public in an open space.
The sponsor media outlet will bring in
entertainment personalities on Friday, January 25, including Angel
Locsin, Piolo Pascual, Sam Milby and other top-rated artists.
The artists will also grace the Kasadyahan
parade on Saturday and join the Dinagyang Hirinugyaw variety show at
the Freedom Grandstand here.
Ferrer said this yearly food festival is the
association’s contribution to the Dinagyang festivities celebrated
every third and fourth weeks of the month by showcasing the best
Ilonggo foods with international flavor for the foreign guests.
