Taiwanese firm expands


TAIWAN-BASED Tong Hsing Elecronics Inc. (THEPI) plans to expand its exiting plant at the Carmelray Industrial Park in Laguna Wednesday.

State-run Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) said that THEPI, one of the leading integrated circuit hybrid assemblers, is infusing P520 million for the expansion.

THEPI produces hybrid micro-circuit and optically-isolated solid state relays, and specializes on chip scale package-land grid array packages and other devices such as printed circuit board assembly with surface mount technology and chip-on-board processes, multichip modules, image sensors and thick-film assembly.

THEPI said it aims to have a custom manufacturing plant attained through quality leadership and continuous improvement in electronic products and services.

The Taiwanese firm earlier invested P800 million.
