alleged members of the Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao
Brigade (RPA-ABB) who are now in the guns-for-hire profession.
Wearing the standard police

They are: Brandy Nilo Gerona; Lloyd Perez; Rommel Baying; Elly
Macariola; Frangilico Gerona; Jonathan Cartujano; Jenny Canlas; and
Sienna Quiambao.
Metro Manila Police Chief
Director Geary Barias said the suspects, who have organized
themselves into a group of hired killers, were members of the
RPA-ABB, a breakaway group from the New People Army.
“Based on our verification…
their names were included in the list of the RPA-ABB members,”
Barias said.
The NCRPO chief said the suspects
were being contracted, among others, by some politicians and illegal
vendors, and have been involved in many killings in southern Metro
Manila and nearby provinces.
Among the cases the group was
allegedly been involved in is the slaying of the bodyguard of Makati
Mayor Jejomar Binay, and a distant relative of Press Secretary
Ignacio Bunye.
The Southern Police District
Director, Chief Supt. Luizo Ticman, said the suspects were arrested
at their safe house at Block 3, Lot 8, Pacita 2-C in San Pedro,
Laguna.
“The operations that led to the
arrests of the suspects were carried out based on a search warrant
issued by Judge Cezar Mangrobang of Imus, Cavite,” Ticman said.
Seized from the group were a KG-9
assault rifle, an MP5 submachine gun, a caliber .45 pistol, a
caliber .25 pistol, three hand grenades and assorted ammunition.
Also seized from the suspects was a list containing names of their
future targets for liquidation, the NCRPO chief said. He declined to
reveal the names on the list.
“We are now trying to get in
touch with the people that the suspects were planning to kill. This
includes government, police and military officials,” Barias said.
