Filipinos think the local economy will improve
despite recession fears
|
|
The majority of Filipino investors are
optimistic the economy will improve despite a US recession, but they
suggest turning away from investing in stocks, bonds and other
fixed-interest securities, a survey reported.
In its Investor Sentiment Index released on
Wednesday, ING Barrings said 59 percent of the Filipino respondents
expressed confidence that the local economy will continue to improve
in the next three months, while 29 percent said they do not expect
any change. Only 12 percent of the respondents believed the economy
will deteriorate.
