Julia Fordham to jazz up the love month

BRITISH singer-songwriter Julia Fordham will ignite the Philippine concert circuit during the busy month of love and romance. Fordham has confirmed that she will perform in a series of shows in Manila and Cebu for Valentine’s.

Organized and produced by the creative think-tank of Ayala Malls, Fordham’s concert series is sure to delight her jazz fans in Manila and Cebu. Until this day, Fordham’s hit songs have remained in the playlist of jazz lovers all over the country. After hitting the top of the charts with the song “Happy Ever After,” she came up with the critically acclaimed album Porcelain, which included popular tracks like “Manhattan Skyline” and “Lock and Key.”

But two songs remain close to the hearts of her Filipino fans: “Love Moves in Mysterious Ways” and “Invisible War,” two songs that will be part of her repertoire. “I have always loved the Philippines. Your people know and understand and feel music the way it should be. I am looking forward to my trip this February,” she was quoted as saying.

The jazz sensation has recently just completed her tenth album titled China Blue, a CD that is overflowing with original gems composed by Fordham and produced and arranged by the multi-instrumentalist Grant Mitchell. Released through an Internet company, called NovaTunes, China Blue has another winner in the song “For You, Only For You,” a simple track with amazing piano and violin instrumentations that complement Fordham’s hauntingly beautiful vocals.

Fordham is scheduled to perform at the Alabang Town Center Activity Center on February 8, TriNoma Activity Center on February 9, Glorietta Activity Center on February 10, Ayala Center Cebu on February 13, and Greenbelt 3 Park on February 15.
