Pass the medicine
bill
|
|
NOW that Congress has passed the
most important bill on the legislative calendar, the National
Appropriations Act of 2008, it should act on and approve an omnibus
affordable medicine bill and send it to President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo
for her signature and enactment into law.
The bicameral conference
committee, scheduled to meet this week, will narrow down the
differences between two bills, the Senate version known as the
Quality, Affordable Medicines Act and the House version, the Cheaper
Medicines Bill.
