The ABS-CBN news team kidnapped in Sulu on June 8 has formally
submitted their supplemental affidavits as well as several videos,
compact discs and photographs of the actual kidnapping, making them
formal complainants to the case.
During the second preliminary investigation on
the kidnapping case on Monday, respondents Indanan Mayor Alvarez
Isnaji of Sulu and son Haider were asked to submit their
counter-affidavits on or before July 7.
The playing of footages of the kidnapping was
treated as confidential and journalists covering the preliminary
investigation were asked to step out of the room.
The footages submitted by the camp of ABS-CBN
news anchor Ces Drilon, and her cameramen Angelo Valderama and Jimmy
Encarnacion would now be used as evidence in the kidnapping case
filed by the Philippine National Police against the Isnajis.
National police chief Director Gen. Avelino
Razon Jr. said the suspected military agent who acted as the guide
of the ABS-CBN news team and Mindanao State University Professor
Octavio Dinampo has turned state witness.
Juamil Biyaw is expected to give vital
information that would implicate further the Isnajis in the
kidnapping case.
Biyaw was initially tagged as one of the
suspects in the kidnapping case.
The Isnajis have been under police custody since
charges of kidnap for ransom were filed against them before the
Department of Justice. They are currently detained at the Camp Crame
Custodial Center.
