Four persons, including three children, were killed
and seven others were injured in a landslide in Samboan, Cebu City
Sunday evening.
Reports reaching Camp Crame
identified the fatalities as Florence Galia, 30 and her three
children, 1-year-old Edwin Jr., four-year-old Nathaniel and
two-year-old Errol Canete.
On the other hand, the injured
victims were Florence’s husband, Edwin Sr., 30; daughters
4-year-old Rowelia and 3-year-old Rachel; Edwin Sr.’s sister
Judith Galia, 27; and George Caballero and his twin sons, Richard
and Raymond Caballero, both 14.
Samboan Police Station
investigator, Senior Police Officer 1 Dominador Ferrolino, in his
report to the national police, noted landslide occurred in the
sub-village of Escaltam, Barangay Poblacion, Samboan about 9:30 p.m.
on Sunday during a heavy downpour.
The houses were located around 50
meters below the national highway.
This developed as the local
government ordered the evacuation of four other households as it was
still checking the stability of the area.
