GARY DAVID sizzled with 30 points as Air21 rallied
past Purefoods 113-103 to formalize its entry in the semifinal round
Wednesday in the 2008 Smart-PBA Fiesta Conference at the Araneta
Coliseum.
The Express came back from 14
points down early in the second period to finish the double-round
elimination with a 12-6 card.
Purefoods, which scored a 101-94
win over Air21 on April 9, has been relegated to the wildcard phase
with an 8-10 win-loss record.
The 6’1” Bataan-born David
was 10-of-14 from the field and 4-of-7 from the 3-point area.
Wynne Arboleda contributed 20
points and 6 assists and Ranidel de Ocampo had 15 points. Steven
Thomas had 13 points, 17 rebounds, 6 blocks and 5 assists.
James Yap led the Giants with 24
points while Kerby Raymundo finished with 20 points, 16 rebounds and
5 assists. Chico Laneta and Peter Simon chipped in 16 points each
and Reda Rhalimi had 14 points.
