National police puts in place one-day processing for IDs of security professionals

The Security Agencies and Guards Supervision Division of the Philippine National Police is now processing applications for License to Exercise Private Security Professions Identification Cards within one day.

The national police spokesperson, Police Supt. Nicanor Bartolome, stressed the one-day processing of the ID cards is being implemented to address the increasing number of applicants continuously flocking to Camp Crame in Quezon City.

The division’s chief, Chief Supt. Danilo Gaoiran, said his office accommodates an average of 200 walk-in applicants a day.

Normally, the processing period takes ten days. But now applicants can get their ID cards in one day.

Gaoiran added that the new scheme was introduced to prevent applicants from being tempted by fixers, eliminate the proliferation of fake private security personnel licenses and give ample time to process license applications forwarded by the Regional Firearms and Explosives Security Agency and Guard Section to his division.

The utilization of additional computer equipment including flatbed scanners, digital cameras and card printers as well as the proper assignment of skilled personnel in encoding application data and photo editing helped reduce the processing time.

The national police chief Director Gen. Avelino Razon Jr. lauded the division in its efforts to discourage the proliferation of fixers.

“This endeavor only reflects the commitment of every Mamang Pulis and Aleng Pulis to provide fast and efficient service to the public,” Razon stated

The division also launched its liaising program with various security agencies and training institutions. These stakeholders shall assist in the production of valid and complete regulatory requirements before their respective applications are submitted for processing.
