High Tech Computer Corp. (HTC), a Taiwan-based smartphones
manufacturer, has recently launched in the Philippines its new
flagship phone, the HTC Touch Diamond.
This high-end smartphone, which will be
available later this month, is HTC’s new addition to its family of
devices since it started in 1997.
The Touch Diamond, offers a unique design,
innovative user interface and notable facets.
Features included among others: a 7.2 Mbps HSDPA
device, powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional with 2.8-inch
touch screen; a built-in 3.2-megapixel camera with auto-focus and a
4GB internal storage. With its sleek design and glossy black color,
Touch Diamond measures 102 by 51 by 11.35mm and weighs 110 grams
(with battery).
In addition, the Windows Mobile-based phone also
integrated three-dimensional touch interface, an upgraded TouchFLO.
Dubbed as TouchFLO 3D, the technology features
cool animations to access contacts, messaging, photos, music,
e-mail, weather and more.
It “enhances the viewing experience” of the
user said Melvin Chua, product marketing manager of HTC for
Southeast Asia. It also offers a new touch-sensitive control for
device interaction.
Besides its customized mobile web browser for
easy viewing and navigation of websites, smartphone is also coupled
with a YouTube application, customized and designed by HTC.
In Southeast Asia, HTC has reached 197-percent
increase in sales from 2006 to 2007, said Kevin Hou, managing
director of HTC for Southeast Asia. In the Philippines, “the
market of [the company] has become bigger” since it was introduced
in the country last year, he said.
