Petron sells e10 premium gasoline

Petron Corp. recently said it has launched the new Petron E10 Premium, a specially formulated unleaded gasoline that meets and exceeds the requirements of the Philippine Biofuels Law. Petron said the E10 Premium contains 10-percent fuel-grade ethanol and 90-percent Petron Premium Unleaded Gasoline, which has enhanced fuel additive that cleans engine deposits to deliver improved performance and fuel economy.

Petron said the E10 Premium burns efficiently and significantly reduces unburned hydrocarbons and other unwanted emissions that contribute to air pollution and global warming.

“The use of ethanol as an additive lessens our dependence on imported crude oil. At a time when fuel prices are at an all-time high, I am sure consumers will appreciate that Petron E10 Premium is cheaper than regular unleaded gasoline by about P2 per liter,” said Petron Reseller General Manager Ramon del Rosario.

“Petron E10 Premium may be used for most fuel-injected vehicles, whether old or new, without need for expensive engine modification. However, we do recommend that first-time users consult their car manual or car dealer,” said Petron Technical General Manager Willy Toledo.

Petron said the E10 Premium may be mixed with other unleaded gasoline at any time, except for vehicles that are equipped with carburetors. Petron E10 Premium is also safe to mix with E10 fuel from other brands. However, Petron said that in order to maximize the benefits of the fuel, consistent use of Petron E10 Premium is recommended as its special formulation is designed to deliver better performance, enhanced fuel economy and reduced tailpipe emissions.

The E10 Premium is offered at Petron service stations in Visayas Avenue, Quezon Avenue, Shaw Boulevard, Marcos Highway, Boni Avenue, San Marcelino, Osmeña Highway, Macapagal Avenue, Dr. Santos Avenue, West Service Road, Circumferential Road in Antipolo and Ortigas Extension in Taytay.

Bosch sustains double-digit growth

Bosch Automotive, the country’s largest supplier of automotive technology parts in the after-market, will sustain its double-digit growth this year through its 10 core business fields in the Philippines, according to Bosch Automotive Aftermarket General Manager Mustafa Sed at the company’s annual news conference held on June 12.

“This growth projection is anchored on the company’s confidence and commitment to the local after-market and the strong performance of the country’s car industry,” said Sed. In 2007, the Philippine automotive sector achieved a huge improvement in sales by breaching the 117,000-unit benchmark—a sales level that has not been surpassed since the Asian crisis in 1997.

This development creates a greater demand for quality maintenance parts for the country’s growing vehicle population, Bosch said.

“On average, monthly car sales stood at close to 10,000 units. This translates into 10,000 potential automotive customers that will need warranty and maintenance parts and automotive diagnostics services in the near future,” said Sed.

Bosch is currently the world’s largest supplier of automotive technology. Bosch also currently leads the global after-market industry.
