UNIVERSITY OF THE EAST (UE) and Ateneo de Manila
University shoot for their second win when they face separate foes
Thursday in the 71st University Athletic Association of the
Philippines men’s basketball at the Philsports Arena.
UE, last year’s losing
finalist, takes on National University in the opener at 2 p.m. while
Ateneo battles Adamson University in main game at 4 p.m.
The Red Warriors and the Blue
Eagles are sharing the lead with idle Far Eastern University and
host University of the Philippines at 1-0.
The Dindo Pumaren-mentored UE
defeated Season 69 champion University of Santo Tomas, 78-73, on
Saturday while Ateneo is coming off a 79-73 win over archrival De La
Salle University.
Marcy Arellano, Hans Thiele and
James Martinez will banner the Red Warriors when they face the
Bulldogs, who absorbed a stinging 72-86 loss to the Fighting
Maroons.
