CHESTER KING won the All Events gold medal after topping the
standings with 5534 Wednesday night in the 20th Asian Tenpin Bowling
Championship at the Hong Kong Bowling City lanes.
It was the second gold medal for the Philippines
after the record-breaking performance of King, Frederick Ong and
Raoul Miranda in the trios.
Miranda took the silver in the All Events with
5444 while Hussain Al Suwaidi of United Arab Emirates settled for
the bronze with 5366.
Miranda, incidentally, delivered the country’s
first medal when he won the bronze in the singles on Sunday.
King, Miranda and Krizziah Tabora made it to the
Masters event to have a shot for two more golds.
In the Team of 5 event, the Philippines finished
fourth in the men’s division and sixth in the ladies category.
Still, the Filipinos qualified for the World Games in Chinese Taipei
next year.
Malaysia defended the men’s team title while
Korea also retained the women’s crown.
