AT&T, AOL agree to block Internet child porn

US Internet providers AT&T and AOL have agreed to block child pornography from their servers, New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo announced Thursday.

"With these agreements with two of the nation's largest ISPs to eradicate child porn websites from their servers tighten the noose around this despicable trade," Cuomo said.

AT&T is America's largest Internet provider, and AOL is the third largest. Their agreements follow on similar deals reached with Verizon, Sprint and Time Warner after months-long investigations by Cuomo's offce into illegal pornography on chat rooms.

The companies have all pledged to do what they can to block access to Internet chat rooms that distribute child pornography as well as sites with that type of content.
