Casper wins silver in Penang-
Shanghai World Star Quest

Filipino singer Casper brought honor to the country by bagging the Silver Prize Best Performance at the Penang-Shanghai World Star Quest held recently at Penang, Malaysia.

Held for the first time outside Shanghai, China where it has been organized for the past nine years, Penang has been selected as the new host. However, to acknowledge its China origins, the event was called Penang-Shanghai World Star Quest. A total of 23 contestants from 15 countries like Australia, Georgia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Mongolia, Singapore, China, Sri Lanka, Thailand, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Philippines and many more, came and participated in the grand finals to compete for various awards and the grand prize. It was a two-night intense competition among the contestants from various nations. The contest was judged by an international jury with seven members selected by the organizing committee.

Casper—Elissete Blancaflor in real life, was the crowd favorite during the competition where she performed two original songs—“Don’t Wanna Be Alone” (2nd Best Song in Penang Shanghai World Star Quest) and “Napapaluha” which she collaborated with composer Vehnee Saturno. She will be releasing her debut album soon under Sony BMG Music Entertainment.
