Batanes, Apayao, Cagayan including Calayan group of islands and Isabela will have stormy weather with rough to very rough seas while the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Abra, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino and Aurora will have rains and gusty winds and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. The rest of Luzon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming widespread rains over the western section of Luzon which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.

Cases say Garcia illegally remitted P1B to Palace

Criminal and administrative charges were filed before the Office of the Ombudsman against Winston Garcia, the president and general manager of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).

The charges were for illegally remitting P1-billion unassigned surplus of the Government Insurance Fund to the Office of the President instead of the National Treasury. Members of the board of trustees of the state pension fund were slapped with the same charges.

A Filipino healing tradition

MASSAGE is the perhaps the oldest form of therapy known to man, and in the Philippines it maintains a long and rich tradition. The Filipino art of bone setting and therapeutic massage was known by various name: hilot (Tagalog, Visayan, Bicolano, Manobo, Dumagat), hagud (Bukidnon), aplos (Bontoc) and ablon (Northern Ilocano) to name a few. Its practitioners known as manghihilot, mammulo and partera were a common sight throughout the archipelago.
