FAIRWAYS and Bluewater Resort Golf & Country Club will hold an
Invitational golf tournament for first-time golfers from the media
on July 18 in Boracay.
“It is the norm of Boracay bound travelers to
go to the island for the beach. Inasmuch as this is so, we would
like to encourage them to try the sport of Golf as one of the many
activities of the island. Fairways offers this opportunity to the
non-golfer in the form of a casual game with one of our pros,”
said Fairways sales and marketing director Cita Villanueva.
The resort’s par 72 course which was designed
by Australian golf icon Graham V. Marsh, is considered one of the
best golfing spots in the Philippines.
Fairways’ 18-hole course poses a major
challenge to both experts and newcomers as they try to overcome the
uneven elevation—a trait which was a product of its developer’s
desire to religiously follow the natural topography of the island.
More than the game itself, players also partake of the added benefit
of a panoramic view of the ocean and of the entire island.
The tournament is presented by SeaAir and
Immuvit with support from Rider, Jacobs Biscuits, Clear, Callaway,
Fairways ATV Center, Hawaiian Tropic and Ralph’s Wine.
