MANILA and Dumaguete dispute the second finals berth at 10:30 a.m.
Saturday in the Baseball Philippines Series 3 Championships at the
Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
The Unibikers defeated the Sharks 14 to 10 last
week to force the rubbermatch that will decide on who will face
first finalist Batangas.
Meanwhile, Batangas manager Randy Dizer is
keeping his fingers crossed that the Bulls won’t face the Sharks
in the finals.
“We prefer to face Dumaguete in the finals.
Manila has a deeper pitching rotation. That’s their advantage
right now,” said Dizer, whose team beat Cebu 7-5 to advance to the
championship round.
Manila’s weapons are RP team pitcher Charlie
Labrador and University Athletics Association of the Philippines
Season 70 Most Valuable Player Romeo Jasmin.
Still, Dizer is optimistic of winning the title.
“The way my team is hitting in the past five games, malaki ang
tsansa namin.”
