One of the world’s top computer manufacturers
recognizes the contribution of the Philippine modern-day heroes, the
overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), through a special package specific
to them and their families, the Acer Special Package.
Agnes Neria-Espino, Acer
(Philippines) Inc. marketing manager says “communicating with
their loved ones frequently and in real-time is an effective way of
providing [OFWs] comfort and security while they are away.”
Espino says overseas workers need
to become computer literate as this adds to their competency and
efficiency, thereby increasing their employment viability. “Their
families also need to be empowered in terms of computer use as well,
especially their children. Computers are the best studying companion
around,” she adds.
She says the promo is in
partnership with Net25, the country’s undisputed technology
channel on TV, through their technology show called Convergence that
has a segment called “Shout Out,” which allows real-time
communication.
Under promo mechanics, every
purchase of an Aspire M5640 desktop and an Aspire 4520G notebook
computer package at the Acer Concept Store includes a free desktop
Web cam, a Flash drive, and a free mobile phone.
To claim the items, the OFW needs
to present a copy of his or her passport (first page and latest
travel), an ID card, and an invoice or official receipt as proof of
purchase of the OFW package. If the freebies are to be claimed via a
representative, a letter of authorization from the OFW, plus all the
other above-mentioned documents, are needed to facilitate the claim.
The Acer Special Package OFW
promo runs until August 10, 2008, and is applicable only for
purchases made at the Acer Concept Store at the SM Megamall,
Mandaluyong City.
