Ginebra eyes 3-0 lead;
Air21, Magnolia part ways

THE Barangay Ginebra Kings eye a commanding 3-0 lead against the Red Bull Barakos in the 2008 Smart-PBA Fiesta Conference at the Ynares Center.

With Jayjay Helterbrand dishing out a sterling all-around performance, the Kings beat the Bulls, 111-101, and take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Helterbrand scored 27 points, including 6 three-pointers, grabbed 4 rebounds and issued 9 assists to pace the Ginebra onslaught.

The Kings have won their last 10 games and could push the Bulls on the brink of elimination with another victory. No team in history has ever recovered from a 0-3 deficit in a best-of-seven series.

In the other game, the Air21 Express and the Magnolia Beverage Masters will break their 1-1 tie in their own series.

The Express celebrated the return of import Steve Thomas with a thrilling 103-102 win over the Beverage Masters Wednesday.
