Extreme Northern Luzon will experience stormy weather. The rest of Northern Luzon will have rains and gusty winds and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. The rest of Luzon and the western section of Visayas will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. Meanwhile, the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

President: VAT helps poor

GMA rejects calls to scrap consumption tax

President Gloria Arroyo on Monday turned down appeals to scrap an unpopular sales tax because of surging inflation, warning that food and fuel prices would likely remain high.
