Isuzu holds charity program in orphanage

Isuzu Phils. Corp. (IPC) bared it donated 10 sacks of rice and lunch meals for 44 orphans—17 high school and 27 elementary students—to the Children’s Joy Foundation Inc. (CJFI) in Canlubang in Calamba, Laguna, on June 21. IPC also sponsored a magic-and-puppet show for the children. Receiving the donation for the non-stock, non-profit private institution were head coordinator June Escobar and regional coordinator Ayen Wate.

At the ceremony, IPC said it was represented by PR Supervisor Ronald Baladad, PR Coordinator Hermes Canon, Lea Gomez and Leah Latosa.

This was the second leg in IPC’s series of corporate social responsibility activities. IPC said it had distributed food and various items at the Hospicio de San Jose on March 29. Isuzu’s next social campaign is on September, the company said.

IPC added the CJFI began as a simple immunization project in 1998. It eventually included residential care services, educational assistance, medical and dental services and livelihood skills training. The foundation was accredited by the Department of Social Welfare and Development in 2005.
