Palace to ask Congress 
for P1.4-T 2009 budget

Malacañang plans to ask Congress for a P1.4-trillion budget for 2009 to fund the programs outlined by President Gloria Arroyo in her eighth State of the Nation Address (SONA) Monday.

On Tuesday, she asked her advisers to come up with a budget outline for next year, as she presided over a Cabinet meeting held in Batangas province, south of Metro Manila.
