Disappointing lack of solidarity

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a concept that all over the world most business firms claim to observe.Associated with CSR are the terms “corporate citizenship,” “responsible business,” “corporate social opportunity” and “stakeholders.” In the CSR concept organizations—not just business corporations—take care to work for the interests of society by taking responsibility for the impact of their activities on the environment, customers, suppliers, employees, shareholders, communities and other stakeholders.

The duty to earnestly consider society and communities transcends mere laws prohibiting corporations from committing abuses or misusing resources. The CSR concept requires that businesses volunteer to act and help improve the quality of life of employees and their families and the people of the community it is located and doing business in.
