Zubiri spoils moves to delay ARMM polls


With just over a week to go, the elections in an autonomous region in southern Mindanao are poised to go on as scheduled despite calls for a postponement because of a government peace pact with Muslim rebels.

On Tuesday, a Congress divided was the outcome of an impasse between lawmakers and proponents of a move to postpone scheduled elections in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
