Century Communities, developer of the 17-hectare
Canyon Ranch in Carmona, Cavite, broke ground on The Village Center
site on April 20, kicking off the construction phase of the
30-outlet commercial and retail development that will enhance the
California-inspired lifestyle of its residents.
Company chairman Ambassador Jose
E.B. Antonio and managing director Marco R. Antonio led the
ceremonies with distinguished guests Dave Peñano Jr. from the
Office of Mayor Roy M. Loyola of Carmona, Cavite; and Merle Jean
Deen, Vice President for Real Estate of the Manila Jockey Club,
Century’s joint partner for the Canyon Ranch development.
“The Village Center will be a
collection of 30 fine retail establishments, in fulfillment of our
vision for Canyon Ranch to be a premiere luxury community and a
mixed-use development that will provide the daily needs of its
residents,” explained Marco Antonio. “Here, homeowners need not
go far to visit a coffee shop, deli, or a grocery store.”
The said retail center will also
be accessible to the visitors of San Lazaro Leisure Park, which lies
at the foothills of the Canyon Ranch community and provides its
residents with a picturesque view of the racetrack and vast Carmona
landscape.
Ambassador
Antonio also revealed a welcome addition to the community’s
amenities. “We will build a chapel on an elevated portion next to
the Village Center as a celebration of our thanksgiving for the
Lord’s blessings. We would like to share this to the whole
community,” he said.
Construction work at Canyon Ranch
is in full swing, with 353 homes scheduled for completion by the end
of 2008. “This is our busiest year ever,” said Marco Antonio.
“And we made sure to time the construction and completion of our
Village Center when all the residents have come to move in by
2009.”
