Hyundai extends warranty to five years
Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI) announced it
has formalized its partnership with Asia Warranty Services Phils.
Inc. and Federal Phoenix Assurance Co. to further its warranty
program to five years, giving its customers the longest coverage

Petron earns award from magazine
Petron Corp. revealed it was given a Gold Trusted
Brand award by Reader’s Digest on April 25. This is the eighth
consecutive year that Petron has won the gold award in the “petrol
station” category of the prestigious Asia-wide consumer survey,
the oil company said.
Petron Advertising and Promotions Director
Charmaine Canillas, on receiving the award, said, “We are very
happy to receive our eighth Reader’s Digest Gold Trusted Brand
Award in eight years. Petron, as a local oil company, faces stiff
competition from international oil giants backed by global marketing
efforts. This award is a testament to discriminating Filipino
consumers who recognize the value-added benefits we deliver on all
our products and services, and who have continued to trust the
proudly-Pinoy Petron brand over the years.”
Petron said it is the market leader in the local
oil industry. Among its fuel brands are Xtra Unleaded, XCS
Complete Combustion System, Blaze and DieselMax while its engine
oils are Ultron, Petron Rev-X and Sprint 4T, a specially formulated
motorcycle oil.
Reader’s Digest conducts an extensive consumer
survey annually among its readers as well as the general public to
determine the winners of the Trusted Brand awards in a wide range of
categories. Respondents are asked to vote in terms of the
brand’s trustworthiness, quality, value, understanding of
customers’ needs, and innovativeness. The Trusted Brands
survey was launched in 1999 and has been carried out annually for
the past 10 years by The Nielsen Company.
Motolite takes part in auto show
Motolite said it exhibited at the 2008 Trans
Sport Show that was held from April 16 to 20. One of the
longest-running motor shows in the country, the Trans Sport Show is
an event that’s much awaited by car enthusiasts, Motolite said.
According to Motolite product manager Millet
Roque, “Since the Trans Sport Show is one of the most popular car
shows in the country, Motolite took the opportunity to showcase our
recently launched character, Motobot, which is featured in our
television commercials.”
Motobot is a computer-generated image featured
in the new Motolite ad campaign. Motolite said Motobot brings to
life the various advantages of its patented EGX technology,
including tropical-weather design, longer service life, superior
power transfer, larger electrolyte reserves, enhanced sealing,
robust polypropylene body and built-in handles.
Motolite manufacturer, Philippine Batteries
Inc., is the largest exporter and distributor of automotive,
industrial, valve-regulated and motorcycle battery products in the
country. The company said it exports batteries to the US, Australia,
Europe, Middle East and Asia.
Porsche engine gets recognition
Stuttgart: Porsche announced it has received the
“Best Performance Engine Award” for the first time from the
British specialist journal Engine Technology International.
In the Engine of the Year Awards, 65 renowned
motoring journalists from more than 30 countries judge power engines
in various different categories. Besides performance, fuel
consumption, driving behavior and driving comfort, the use of
future-oriented technologies is also taken into account in the
awards, Porsche said.
