I got my first tattoo at the age of 21, an ambigram of the word
“faith” on my inner wrist. It was pleasure and pain combined
when I was being inked. The tattoo artist told me that sooner or
later I’ll get more and that I’ll get hooked. I said no, this
will be my only one.
I ate my words, because after a tragic incident
that happened in my life, I had another tattoo done in memory of a
special person that gave a huge impact in my life. As an artist at
heart, I respect tattoos and see them as a form of art, and since it
will be permanently mark my skin. I designed the tattoo myself.
For the first time last week, I had a tattoo
done by a female. Considering that she’s a friend of mine it was
surprisingly comfortable, and the pain was tolerable because she
handled the machine without any aggression that most male tattoo
artists do when they do their craft on my skin.
Tattoos can be addictive, but it depends on you
if you want your whole body be filled with this kind of art. For me,
every piece of tattoos that I have has its own significance. Every
tattoo that I have represents a stage in my life or an experience
that is blissfully memorable. Like any artwork, each masterpiece has
a story behind it, just like tattoos.
