Comelec, BFAD employee
found dead in residence

A member of the Commission on Elections law department was found dead beside her husband, who is a pharmacist of the Bureau of Food and Drugs, inside their residence.

Police identified the fatalities as lawyer Sunshine Mallen and her husband Benjie Mallen, both 33 years old, who were found with gunshot wounds on their heads in their residence at 3335-A Mag Araulio Street, Bacood, Sta. Mesa, Manila.

Manila police said the incident happened between 4 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. and stemmed from domestic problems.

Prior to the incident, Sunshine was reportedly sleeping with housemates Edelyn Dingle, Herdylyn Morgado and brother Lex Mortel in the living room, while Benjie was upstairs. Dingle woke up after hearing gunshots and saw Benjie standing in front of Sunshine’s dead body. Shortly, another shot rang and Benjie fell dead.
