The best bowlers from the country and the other parts of the world
will show their wares in the 37th Philippine International Open
Tenpin Bowling Championships from June 12 to 28 at the SM Mall of
Asia Bowling Center.
Players from more than 10 countries are expected
to participate in one of Asia’s longest-running bowling tournament
formerly known as the PBC International Open.
Liza del Rosario will be out to defend her title
in the ladies’ masters while Asian star Wu Siu Hong of Hong Kong
will try to retain the men’s masters crown.
Also on tap in the tournament organized by the
Philippine Bowling Congress in cooperation with Ebonite
International and hosted by the SM Bowling Center are the graded,
associates, rookies and seniors masters and boys and girls youth
masters.
The top 16 in the Open Masters will qualify for
the Philippine leg of the Asian Bowling Federation Tour 2008 slated
on June 29 at the same venue.
Carrying the load for the home team are 2006
World Men’s Masters champion Biboy Rivera, three-time Southeast
Asian Games gold medal winner Paolo Valdez and del Rosario.
