Sony launches latest Bravia HD TV lineup

Sony Philippines Inc. recently introduced its latest string of full high-definition (HD) televisions.

Named Best Resolution Audio Visual Integrated Architecture (Bravia) W400, the series, designed in a sleek midnight blue design, incorporates a full 1080 HD display, along with an array of visual- and audio-enhancing technologies.

Among the series’ picture-enhancing technologies is the Bravia Engine 2, a digital picture-enhancement mechanism leveraging advanced algorithms, which improves color contrast for a more vibrant display. Another technology used is the Live Color Creation Technology, which is used to achieve deeper and more accurate color tones.

In addition to the picture-enhancing technologies, the series also features Intelligent Picture, which automatically improves weak broadcast signals and adjusts to decrease signal noise for improved picture clarity. An indicator, which will tell the signal level of a channel, will be seen at the bottom of the screen. In addition, there is also an MPEG Noise Reduction, which solves the problem of MPEG compression by automatically reducing block noise and improving the edges of characters.

The series also features sound technologies such as the Advanced S-Force Surround Sound, providing virtual surround sound with its built-in speakers, and Voice Zoom, which allows users to adjust speech or background volume, while maintaining ambient sound levels.

The series offers enhanced connectivity through Bravia Sync, which allows users to control Sony home entertainment products with a single remote, and the Digital Media Port (DMP), allowing users to connect their media player and Bluetooth-enabled products such as mobile phones to the television. The series has one DM port and three HDMI ports.

An environmental-friendly feature of the series is the ambient light sensor that adjusts screen brightness to match the light in the room; thus, saving power consumption and reducing eye fatigue.

Other power-saving features include the brightness sensor, power saving mode, and auto power-off.

The full HD Bravia W400 series comes in four sizes, 52”, 46”, 40”, and 32” and is already available in the market.
