Porsche tops quality survey in united states
Stuttgart: Porsche revealed it had met stringent quality standards in the US, its largest export market, as concluded by the US market research institute J.D. Power. In the latest Initial Quality Study opinion poll of J.D. Power, Porsche said it secured first place for the third time in a row in the prestigious brand ranking, topping Infiniti, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz and Toyota. The carmaker said there were 81,500 buyers of new cars who were interviewed for the study.
The 911 Carrera finished on top in the "Premium Sporty Car" segment and was also voted the best car overall in the study, Porsche said. It added the Cayman was named second-best in its class in the "Compact Premium Sporty Car" segment while the Cayenne took third in the "Midsize Premium Multi-Activity Vehicle" segment.
Toyota holds service skills olympics
Toyota Motor Phils. (TMP) recently held its Toyota Service Skills Olympics at the Toyota Special Economic Zone in Santa Rosa City, Laguna.Participated in by service advisors and technicians from the Toyota dealer network, the biennial competition has successfully enhanced and raised the skill levels and competency of Toyota service personnel nationwide.Technician Francis Tecson from Toyota Cubao and service advisor Glenn Menendez of Toyota Manila Bay raise their trophies for topping their respective categories. First runners-up were technician Isagani Antig and service advisor Enrique Siaboc (Toyota Cagayan de Oro City) while second runners-up were technician Manuel Boriga (Toyota Marikina Service Station) and service advisor Amado Rivera (Toyota Alabang). Tecson and Menendez will represent the Philippines in the International Champion's Assembly to be held at Toyota headquarters in Japan. Mountaineers promote cycling in campus
To promote bicycling as a means of transportation, the UP Mountaineers spearheaded UP Padyak, a rent-a-bike program for the students of UP Diliman. As advocates of environmentalism and outdoor activities, the UP Mountaineers hope to lessen dependence on fossil fuel-driven vehicles.
The program is implemented starting this month. The organization also plans to install creatively designed bike racks at key buildings in the campus. Those interested in renting a bike could log on to www.padyak.org.
Pop quintet endorses mercedes-benz
Mercedes-Benz Philippine distributor CATS Motors Inc. announced The Click Five has partnered with Mercedes-Benz for their second visit to the Philippines. "It's been amazing, and we have top-notch transportation everywhere," says front man Kyle Patrick, who quickly followed it up with a joking inquiry if they could test-drive the sleek line of cars displayed at the showroom.
The Click Five is composed of front man Patrick, Joe Guese on lead guitar, Ethan Mentzer on bass, Ben Romans on keyboards and Joey Zehr on drums. The band recently showcased their distinct brand of pop to a sold-out crowd at the Araneta Coliseum.
