TOP challenger Ariel Delgado and No. 6 Roel Laguna will tip the
scale at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Games and Amusement Board office in
Makati City.
Delgado, the current WBC ABCO super-bantamweight
champion, and Laguna, a former amateur standout sporting an 8-2-1 (5
KO) record, will dispute the Philippine interim 122-lbs. crown
Thursday in Baras, Rizal.
Regular champion Jun Talape is scheduled face
OPBF defending champion Wethya Sakmuangklang of Thailand later this
month.
If Talape beats Sakmuangklang, the RP title will
be vacant, and the winner between Delgado and Laguna will become
regular champion.
But if Talape fails to wrest the OPBF title, he
will have to fight the winner between Delgado and Laguna.
The 12-round encounter dubbed “War Zone in
Baras” is presented by Save-by-the-bell Promotions and will be
aired on Sunday, from 12-1 pm on ABC-5.
