WILLIE MILLER had 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists
as the Alaska Aces rolled to their sixth straight win following a
104-81 demolition of the Welcoat Dragons Wednesday in the 2008
Smart-PBA Fiesta Conference at the Araneta Coliseum.
Import Randy Holcomb and LA
Tenorio also turned it double-digit scores for the Aces, who gained
a share of second place with idle Air21 at 8-6.
Holcomb finished with 18 points,
11 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks while Tenorio had 15 points,
including 3 triples for Alaska, which posted an 97-68 going into the
final 3:23.
Despite the lopsided win, Coach
Tim Cone cautioned his team not to relax and urged them to even do
more to be able to reach the finals for the second straight time.
Alaska, which won over Welcoat
92-90 in the first round on April 16, remained as one of only two
teams, which the Dragons have never beaten since joining the league
in 2006.
Import Maruis Gainous led the
Dragons with 31 points, 16 rebounds and 2 assists and 1 block while
Fil-Am Joe Devance contributed 13 points and 4 rebounds.
Welcoat raced to a 13-6 lead
before Alaska tied the count at 23-all at the end of the first
period.
