Buddy food for dad

Get on a first-name basis at Gerry’s Grill

By Rome Jorge, Lifestyle Editor

The man of the house likes a hearty meal. Fathers like something familiar—nothing too frilly or fancy—just down to earth goodness. But they also appreciate a new twist. For Father’s Day, the place to be is a place well loved—a bit like home.

Gerry’s Grill, conveniently located nationwide in family friendly places such as malls, is easy to take for granted, with it so commonplace. However, the longtime grill favorite has new treats and surprises.

Dory—succulent white fish meat often associated with fine dining and exotic cuisine—is now available at Gerry’s. Wrapped in banana leaf and grilled with all its juices intact or crispy fired as fish sticks, dory is now on the menu at surprisingly affordable prices.

Another welcome surprise are baked scallops. We are talking about fat, dollar-sized, and bright red-lipped scallops baked with butter and cheese. Eight to platter, one order is a steal at wallet friendly prices.

Of course, the well-loved mainstays at Gerry’s such as grilled squid, crispy pata, sisig, nilagang bulalo, sugba kilaw, grilled pork belly, tanguige and bagoong rice are still there. And all these treats are perfect with mugs of beer.

It’s time to reacquaint your father to an old buddy and get some hearty goodness at Gerry’s Grill.
