COCA-COLA and Red Bull try to keep their share of the lead when they
face separate rivals Sunday in the 2008 Smart-PBA Fiesta Conference
at the Araneta Coliseum.
The Tigers gun for their 10th win against
Barangay Ginebra in the first game at 4:30 p.m. while the Barakos
(9-5) meet the Giants in the other game at 6:50 p.m.
Coca-Cola, which is coming off a 103-96
win over Talk ‘N Text on June 8, is expected to face a strong
challenge against Barangay Ginebra, which is on a two-game roll
despite the absence of top gun Mark Caguioa.
Without Caguioa, who is nursing a strained calf
muscle, the Gin Kings have to rely on locals Jayjay Helterbrand,
Ronald Tubid and import Chris Alexander.
The Tigers narrowly escaped past the Gin Kings,
82-81, in the first round on April 18.
Meanwhile, Red Bull guns for a third straight
win against Purefoods in their 6:50 p.m. encounter.
The Barakos hope to get another brilliant game
from Cyrus Baguio, who carried the team to a 98-96 win over the
Giants in the first round.
Purefoods, on the other hand, seeks to rebound
from a two-game skid to improve its 8-6 card.
