Motorola launches latest music
phones–the W230, ROKR E8

The W230 and the ROKR 38 are primarily dedicated to music and both have their unique sets of features.

The W230 is a basic phone equipped with a music player that can store up to 2 GB external expandable memory on optional microSD cards. It has dedicated music keys and an FM radio with integrated Radio Data System, which displays the details of the song played on the radio. Furthermore, users may record FM radio clips to use for the phone’s alarm and for other purposes as well. Connectivity is available with a USB 1.1 and a WAP 2.0 Dual Stack browser.

Lastly, the phone features CrystalTalk technology, which helps lessen background noise, for up to nine hours of talk time.

The ROKR E8, on the other hand, features a 2GB internal memory that can store up to 1,500 songs, an expandable external memory up to 4GB, and a three-dimensional stereo and on-board equalizer.

The phone features a ModeShift technology, which allows the user to change the mode of his device from phone to music player, and a Fast Scroll navigation wheel, allowing content access with a slide of the thumb. In addition, the phone has virtual keys, featuring haptics technology, which provides response when a key is pressed.

The phone is also equipped with CrystalTalk technology and voice readout of text messages as one dials a number or receives a call. In addition, it has a 2.0-megapixel camera, a built-in FM radio, HTML browser and Windows Media Player 11. Connectivity is available via USB 2.0, Bluetooth, GPRS, and EDGE technology.

The W230 and ROKR E8 are already available in the market.

The Moto MashUp is a music campaign, aiming to provide a music stereotype breakthrough by fusing from the two extreme music genres. The event featured artists such as Taken by Cars, DJ Funk Avy, Top Suzara, Radha, Ciudad and Overtone.
