The W230 and the ROKR 38 are primarily dedicated to music and both
have their unique sets of features.
The W230 is a basic phone equipped with a music
player that can store up to 2 GB external expandable memory on
optional microSD cards. It has dedicated music keys and an FM radio
with integrated Radio Data System, which displays the details of the
song played on the radio. Furthermore, users may record FM radio
clips to use for the phone’s alarm and for other purposes as well.
Connectivity is available with a USB 1.1 and a WAP 2.0 Dual Stack
browser.
Lastly, the phone features CrystalTalk
technology, which helps lessen background noise, for up to nine
hours of talk time.
The ROKR E8, on the other hand, features a 2GB
internal memory that can store up to 1,500 songs, an expandable
external memory up to 4GB, and a three-dimensional stereo and
on-board equalizer.
The phone features a ModeShift technology, which
allows the user to change the mode of his device from phone to music
player, and a Fast Scroll navigation wheel, allowing content access
with a slide of the thumb. In addition, the phone has virtual keys,
featuring haptics technology, which provides response when a key is
pressed.
The phone is also equipped with CrystalTalk
technology and voice readout of text messages as one dials a number
or receives a call. In addition, it has a 2.0-megapixel camera, a
built-in FM radio, HTML browser and Windows Media Player 11.
Connectivity is available via USB 2.0, Bluetooth, GPRS, and EDGE
technology.
The W230 and ROKR E8 are already available in
the market.
The Moto MashUp is a music campaign, aiming to
provide a music stereotype breakthrough by fusing from the two
extreme music genres. The event featured artists such as Taken by
Cars, DJ Funk Avy, Top Suzara, Radha, Ciudad and Overtone.
