The Manila Police are conducting investigations on the identity of
the mother who threw her own child to death from the ninth floor of
a building in Binondo, Manila Tuesday.
The baby girl, who was rushed to the Gat Andres
Bonifacio Hospital, was described as chinky-eyed, and was newly
born. Doctors said that the dead baby’s side was swollen, and has
wounds on the head and the mouth.
Manila Police Station 11 chief, Supt. Nelson
Yabut said that the baby was found at around 11 a.m. a rice mill in
San Fernando Street in Binondo.
Barangay 284 Zone 26 police Rodolfo Malion said
that workers in the mill heard a loud thud from around the Gold Rich
Mansion in Jaboneros corner Madrid Streets in Binondo. When they
went to where the sound came from, they saw the lifeless body of a
baby.
Authorities also found the baby’s umbilical
cord, which is now under Barangay Chairman Delia Co’s custody.
Yabut said that they saw blood coming from a
comfort room window in Unit 905 of the said building. Apparently,
all the other windows of the building had metal grills.
