THE country’s most promising ice skaters displayed their skills in
the Summerskate ‘08 held on May 20 to 23 at the SM Mall of Asia.
Shaira Myron Salarda and Jules Vince Alpe
topped their respective events while 11-year-old Allysa Comia of
Elite Blade Skating Team was named most promising skater in the
annual tournament organized by SM and sanctioned by the Ice Skating
Institute (ISI).
The 8-year-old Salarda, an incoming third grader
at OB Montessori in Sta. Ana, garnered 50.78 points to rule the
female division of freestyle level rink, while Alpe tallied 30.78
points to win the male division of the same category.
Allyza Nordstrom of SM Mega Mall garnered the
highest score in the female basic level with 27.58 points while
Lawrence Gibson Bartolome of Mall of Asia topped the male side with
16.61 points.
Nina Dating of SM Megamall was chosen most
artistic skater in “low” freestyle in the artistic division
while Angela Alfonso of Manila Figure dominated the “high”
category in the artistic division.
In the team category, Elite Blades Skating won
the title with 955 points followed by Mega Mall (903.5) and Metro
Ice (341.5)
