Drinking coffee has been a habit for many young sportsmen. Three
student-athletes from different schools share the benefits they get
from drinking coffee.
Dior Dy of UP Diliman juggles her time as a
student and an athlete. As a scholar, she must perform well in
school because she has to maintain excellent grades. Coffee has
helped her cope up with her hectic schedule.
“I can stay attentive to my teachers and
participate in class discussions when I drink coffee,” Dior
shares.
As for John Carlo Tiuseco of San Sebastian
College, coffee has become his secret weapon to increase his
tolerance to exercise and train for longer hours.
“Coffee perks me up, helps me focus on my
studies, and improves my performance as an athlete,” John Carlo
says.
Kevin de la Peña of Mapua Institute of
Technology makes drinking coffee a part of his sports diet. He
prepares coffee before heading to his daily basketball training.
“Coffee is very convenient for people like me
who are very active,” says the 24-year-old sportsman.
Research concludes that coffee stimulates the
mind and reduces discomfort and fatigue that athletes experience
when training and competing. Coffee intake has been proven to
improve sports performance by 12.4 percent especially if athletes
train or exercise for longer duration.
For these athletes, Nescafé 3in1 has made
preparing coffee an easier task because it has the perfect mix of
coffee, creamer and sugar, to help them balance their studies and
sports training.
