Honda unveils new compact minivan in Japan

TOKYO: Honda Motor Co. Ltd. announced recently it has begun sales of a new compact minivan here. Called Freed, the new model fuses an easy-to-use and spacious cabin with stylish design, the carmaker said.

Developed under the concept of “Freedom to create the perfect lifestyle,” the Freed features Honda’s original low-floor and low-center-of-gravity technology to achieve a compact body that makes the vehicle easy to maneuver through city streets, Honda said. It added the Freed’s spacious cabin allows adults to sit comfortably in all of the vehicle’s three rows.

According to Honda, it developed the Freed because it wanted a minivan that offers its customers to fully and freely utilize the vehicle in activities that meet individual lifestyles that range from daily transportation to leisure trips.

Honda bared there are three versions of the Freed: A seven-passenger model that features captain’s seats in the second row, an eight-passenger model and a five-passenger model that offers large, best-in-class cargo space.
