Search for missing fishermen
in La Union continues

 
SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union: Government authorities and volunteers continue their search and rescue operations for the remaining 12 fishermen missing in Agoo, La Union, after the Philippine Navy dispatched on Thursday two helicopters to scour the coastal areas of Ilocos Norte up to Zambales.

Before Typhoon Frank hit Northern Luzon, 23 fishermen went fishing but 12 went missing after it hit land.

Those rescued Tuesday morning along the coast of Pilar, Sta. Cruz in Ilocos Sur include Carlos Soriano, Macmac Celeste, Edmund Hugo, Benito Soriano, Rodel Bacalan, Julieto Sarmiento, Noel Rulloda, Jose Carrera, Vicente Ofiana, Roland Cadima and Carlos Ofiana.

Still in the list of missing persons are Lomer Garcia, Andy Domondon, Pepito Albay, Fernan Hugo, and Michael Garcia all residents of Barangay San Nicolas West, Agoo; Salvador Supsupin, Sixto Gualberto, Edwin Cachula, Boy Estacio, all residents of Barangay Balwarte, Agoo; Bobby Ofiana, resident of Barangay San Isidro, Agoo; and Amado Fangonilo, Roberto Eslao, both residents of San Juan, Agoo.
