Firm recruits RP-based
CAD workers for Abu Dhabi

By Jayson Cruz Luna, Reporter

Reemalum Philippines (RAP), a curtain wall fabricator based in Makati City’s central business district, is spearheading major construction projects in Abu Dhabi, creating new employment opportunities for skilled Filipino structural engineers and CAD designers.

RAP is recruiting these professionals who will work for Reem Emirates Aluminum (REA), the largest curtain wall fabricator in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), without leaving the country.

RAP is a subsidiary of REA’s Southeast Asia division. It is one of many foreign companies outsourcing key business processes to Filipinos residing in the Philippines and creating high-paying jobs in the country.

Derek Bruce, REA general manager, said the company has chosen to locate in the Philippines for its strategic design business division due to its advanced information technology and infrastructure, high literacy, favorable foreign direct investment incentives, and attractive labor costs compared to other countries.

“The Philippines is known internationally for producing talented engineers and architects. REA is fortunate to have the opportunity to leverage this attractive HR resource,” Bruce said.

REA is positioning its Philippines office to deliver sustained shareholder value and maximize customer satisfaction, wanting to become a preferred local employer.

“RAP provides additional design manpower strength to REA, and its business design provides the parent company a competitive edge in terms of cost and efficiency without compromising quality and client satisfaction,” Bruce added.

RAP services REA clients in the UAE, and has projects in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Local engineers and designers coordinate with UAE-based consultants and architects in all phases of the projects. Local specialists focus on conceptualization and execution of curtain wall designs.

Curtain walls are thin, aluminum-framed, glass in-filled walls that are attached to the building structure without carrying the floor or roof loads.
