Dinky’s kinks
|
|
Every time we see the former social welfare secretary “Dinky”
Corazon Juliano Soliman we recall that just hours before she began
attacking her old friend, benefactress and boss she was lustily
singing “If We Hold On Together.” The song was the Cabinet’s
declaration of loyalty to President Gloria Arroyo. Dinky—like the
others who would later be among the “Hyatt 10”—did not mean in
her heart what her mouth was saying.
We also remember her claim that she had
overheard Presidential Political Adviser Gabriel Claudio telling
President Arroyo about lawyer Oliver Lozano’s pretend impeachment
complaint. Dinky said she heard the President instructing Claudio to
get Congressman Rodante Mercoleta to endorse it. Claudio, of course,
denied that such a conversation took place.
