will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered
rainshowers while the rest of the country will
be partly cloudy to at times cloudy with

Rival groups band together for peaceful protest
Rival opposition groups stopped
their bickering and banded together on Friday to stage an
inter-faith protest, the biggest antigovernment protest in years, to
press the ouster of President Gloria Arroyo for alleged corruption.
The government reiterated that President Gloria
Arroyo’s resignation is not the solution to the political crisis,
saying any change must be based on the unified voice of all
Filipinos.

Greenpeace wants rice import quarantined and tested

Thursday warned the government, specifically the National Food
Authority (NFA), that the shipment of rice being offloaded at the
Naval Supply Depot could be contaminated with genetically modified
organisms (GMO), which is illegal in the country.
